A small, quiet pocket between Polwarth and Dalry, Shandon is a residential area that often flies under the radar. It's centred around Harrison Road and the south side of the Union Canal. Housing is mainly Victorian tenement flats and some colony-style houses, well-maintained and often spacious. Rents are moderate — slightly higher than Gorgie, slightly lower than Polwarth. The area benefits from Harrison Park and the canal towpath for walks and cycling. It's a 15-20 minute walk to the city centre and well-served by buses along Dalry Road.
